Hi maryshelley,Thanks for your question. The gold standard for slimming the nose is a reduction rhinoplasty in which the bones of the nose are narrowed while the bridge is lowered. If you do not want surgery, fillers are another option.I prefer HA (hyaluronic acid) filler like Restylane and Juvederm for non-surgical rhinoplasty. If you use fillers, the bridge will get taller in the process of trying to make it look narrower. In fact, it won't be narrower at all because the nasal bones are not being moved. It is an optical illusion but works for most patients. It is also temporary as HA filler last 10-12 months.Another option, may be placement of a silicone dorsal nasal implant that is narrow for the same basic effect but one that is permanent.I recommend that you find a non-surgical rhinoplasty specialist in your area for a consultation.Good luck,Dr. Shah
I suggest seeing an expert , fillers can be used to shape a nose if you are good candidate. Best, Dr. Emer.
Fillers, as part of a non surgical nose job fill depressions or smooth out areas. Non surgical nose job cannot reduce the size of the nose or the tip.
Placement of fillers in the nose will make the nose bigger and wider, not more slim and narrow. In addition, fillers are only temporary and are not FDA approved for that application. To narrow the nose requires a surgical rhinoplasty. The bony bridge line is narrowed with osteotomies, and the tip is narrowed with conservative cartilage removal and suture techniques. For many examples of surgical rhinoplasty, please see the link and the video below
No surgical nose jobs have limitations and do not have the versatility that surgery offers. They can lift the back or Dorsum of the nose and hide small humps or concavities and in so doing make the nose appear talker and narrower. They cannot refine a bulbous tip. Surgeons with computer imaging can show you what it may look like. The choice is yours. Dissolvable (Restylane or Perlane) or non dissolving ( i.e. You have to wait for it to go away if you're not happy) such as Radiesse.
Non surgical rhinoplasty has risks, filler injected into small spaces like the nose can cause blood vessels to stop delivering blood to the skin and cause the skin to die and leave a scar that is permanent. This is rare but can happen. Please see an expert for a consultation to determine w...
A surgical rhinoplasty is required to straighten a crooked nose. Osteotomies placed in the nasal bones are required to straighten them. A cartilaginous spreader graft is required to straighten a concave upper lateral cartilage in the midportion of the nose. A tip rhinoplasty is required to ...
I suggest posting photos to see if you are a candidate. Be sure you go to someone experienced as this area has a high rate of complications if not done properly. Best, Dr. Emer.
