Scar on the face from accident during childhood
Answer: Depending on the scar, a revision or scar laser treatments can be done to minimize appearance Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Answer: Face scar This is a difficult question to answer without evaluating you in person so I could determine if the size and location of the scar are favorable for a revision. There is a good chance, however, that your current scar could be removed surgically creating a new wound to close and heal. It is important for this new wound to have minimal tension to maximize healing and scar formation. Not everyone is a good candidate for this treatment so please see a Board Certified or Board Eligible Plastic Surgeon to evaluate if you may benefit. Good luck! Answer: 30 yr old scar removal Hello! Without seeing a photo, it is hard to comment on your scar specifically. In general scars may be treated in several different ways, including re-excision, laser or fillers. Your best bet would be to schedule a consultation with a board eligible/certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate this in person. Best of luck to you!
