Huge booger 6 weeks after septorhinoplasty (Photo)

Question

I am really scared . Today i was cleaning my nose with qtips and peroxyde like doctoe advised me to every other day . And this huge and hard booger came out . There was no following bleeding but i am scared that i took out a nose part or something . Is this possible ? Please help i am terrified as it's really hard and crispy :(

It's normal following nasal surgery to experience some degree of crusting and mucous collection that solidifies. Boogers are actually called rhinoliths (nasal stones) -- while you often pick them before they are too firm, if you leave them in long enough, they harden with time. Surgery dries out the nose (not breathing as much out of it, avoiding blowing, not picking, etc...), so boogers of this magnitude are normal in my eyes.  I have my patients keep the nasal cavity moist with nasal saline use twice daily to minimize nasal crusting and rhinolith formation. Discuss with your surgeon.
