Is yellow stomach discoloration above Tummy tuck incision normal? (photos)

Question

I've noticed some yellow discoloration right above my incision that has developed over the past 9 days. It does not look like the other bruising I have on my sides. Is this normal bruising or signs of something else going on? I have a follow up appointment with the Dr tomorrow.

This is most likely bruising and it very common to see after your procedure.  It should certainly resolved over the next few weeks.   If you are concerned you should talk to your surgeon so he/she can reassure you.

The yellow discoloration is bruising that is resolving.  First black, then green, then yellow is the normal progression.  The drainage at day 1 looks very dark, which explains why you have residual bruising.  You should be mindful of your activity and following closely with your surgeon. You look more swollen on day 9 than on day 1.

Congratulations on your recent surgery! Fromthe picture you provided, it appears as though you have normal bruising as long as you aren't having any other symptoms. As bruises resolve, they can turn from purple to yellowish green. I would definitely recommend double checking with your surgeon tomorrow during your follow up. The color in your photo could be normal or there may be a little collection of blood clot in the center underneath.  Bring it to your doctors attention when you return for your visit and monitor it together.If you develop some liquid under the skin from the bruise, it usually can easily be removed with a needle and syringe very comfortably, but usually the bruising goes away by itself.

Hi, GG82Based on your photos, you seem to have post-operative bruising.  Bruising typically change colors from blue/purple to yellow.  When there is congestion of the tissue, it tends to be more dark, purple.  Please check back with your plastic surgeon to be evaluated in-person.Good luck with your continued recovery.
