Hi , I have had 2 children, one naturally, the other was a C-section. I’m extremely active being a jiujitsu competitor and a power lifter. The last thing I want is a tummy tuck. In fact , that is absolutely not an option for me! I honestly don’t care if I have some unevenness. The part that bothers me the most is the left side that protrudes slightly more then the right side. Would Renuvion be a good choice for me ? What other options? Definitely will NOT do a tummy tuck! Thanks :)

Answer: Asymmetry You stated that the left side protrudes more than the right side but you did not state what part of your body you’re concerned about. is it your abdomen? All people have significant degrees of asymmetry. The face is asymmetrical and so is the body. All internal organs are placed asymmetrically and people are either left-handed or right handed. It’s not uncommon for one side of the abdominal wall to project more than the other side. This is often due to skeletal asymmetry of the rib cage and pelvis. also, remember that all internal organs are a symmetrically placed with your liver on the right side spleen on the left side etc. etc. etc. The human body is not symmetrical on anyone, and it’s not supposed to be. The degree of asymmetry, visible in your case, is very much within one standard deviation, and should not be addressed surgically. I see absolutely no reason for you to have Liposuction for the purpose of creating a symmetry or Renuvion, which I see no indication for whatsoever. It would be helpful. If you would point out what your actual concern is so we can give you a better answer. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
