I had restylane injection last June, I was not real happy with the results. My plastic surgeon used it nose to mouth lines, top lip & bridge of nose. My top lip did not stay plumped up & nasal labia line is still there. Would restylane lyft be a better solution or Juvaderm xl?
Answer: Experienced Injectors Fit The Filler To The Specific Job At Hand & To The Particular Locations Requiring Treatment Once upon a time, over fifteen years ago, all physician injectors had in the way of hyaluronic acid-based fillers were Restylane & Juvederm, and they were used for everything from chasing fine lines and wrinkles to filling deep folds and recontouing the face. Today, fortunately, we have a whole variety of injectable products designed for specific purposes and specific locations, and it is the job and responsibility of every experienced injector to know where and how to use them. No patient should have to tell his/her injector what to use, where to use it and how much to inject. Without at least photos, it is not even possible to tell you whether in fact you need filler injections directly into your smile lines or whether you would profit more from the use of a robust volumizing filler, such as Juvederm Voluma XC, or a more lifting filler, such as Restylane Lyft to the cheeks, which often secondarily improves the smile lines without even needing to inject them directly. You would be wise to make certain that you are consulting with an experienced board certified aesthetic physician and insist upon seeing his/her before and after photos before agreeing to proceed. Best of luck.

Answer: Vertical Lines / Smoker's Lines -- Fillers (Restylane Silk, Belotero), Laser Resurfacing, Peels, Superficial RF, Microneedling Fillers such as Restylane Silk, Belotero, or Juvederm can work well to treat lines around the mouth, but the best first option is laser resurfacing or deep peels to induce collagen production. Superficial radiofrequency devices and microneedling can help as well and are less invasive. I suggest going to an experienced cosmetic dermatologist with expertise in lasers and fillers. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Getting a good result with fillers starts with your doctor It is difficult to say what might be best for you without seeing a few photos at least. I can tell you that if you are working with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon with extensive experience in dermal fillers, you can rest assured your doctor will know the best filler for you. The specific product can vary based on the severity of your aging symptoms and the precise results you hope to achieve. Make sure you are working with a qualified provider and you should see a good result.

Answer: Filler Choice for NLF's and around the mouth My filler preference for the NLF's and around the mouth is Restylane Refyne or Defyne (depending on the thickness of the patients skin). These 2 filler choices both have what is called expression technology so it is made to be placed in areas of movement as to not cause lumps and bumps. I think if Restylane Lyft is used in that area, you could potentially run into issues of lumps. Depending on how much filler was placed in 1 setting, it could be that you just need more filler to achieve the desired result you are looking for. Keep in mind 1 full 1cc syringe is 1/5 of a teaspoon. I would follow up with your original provider and discuss your options for further improvement.

Answer: Filler This all depends on what you are expecting from fillers. Fillers will soften the nasolabial folds so you will still see the line. Lyft will fill lines better but its a thicker product that could feel lumpy around the nasolabial folds.
