Back in 2009, I had a PE. I was told being on birth control caused it. Fast forward later, I was diagnosed with Protein C and S deficiency. I'm not currently on any anticoagulants, however I had to be on lovenox during both my pregnancies and 3 months after. Can I still get lipo?

Answer: Liposuction candidate Dear Drhotrod82, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. You will need to get a clearance from your doctor prior to surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Liposuction And Clotting Issues I appreciate your concerns, however I do not believe that your coagulation issues would be a contraindication to having liposuction. Lovenox is often used concurrently with different types of cosmetic procedures in patients with issues with previous blood clots. I recommend that you consult with both your medical doctor and board-certified plastic surgeon to formulate a safe plan to allow you to undergo liposuction. Best of luck!
