Can minoxidil be used on the beard?

In my opinion, minoxidil can be used on the beard area. There are no studies to substantiate the extent of improvement. This is an FDA off-label indication . We have seen patients develop a thicker hair follicle. Please be aware that minoxidil on the face is irritating. I would start with a 5% every other day. Plan on using moisturizers. Be careful of the side effects including palpitations and dizziness. You should be monitored by a dermatologist. Hope this helps. Good luck.

maybe this drug will cause hair growth to occur. I am not sure the quality of the hair growth. Many young men want to accelerate their beard growth and ask
about it. It takes age (genetic triggers which occur in family lines) so
if you want to find out when your beard will grow out, you need to find out
when your father or grandfather started to grow theirbeard. Hormones should have kicked in
nicely by the time a man reaches 18 but he must wait out his genetics
as hormone alone are not responsible for the onset of beard grown. Beard
transplants can be done when the young man is a bit older (over 25) if the
beard has not grown in yet
