I received Juvederm Volbella in my tear troughs to fill in my under eye bags with a blunt tip cannula. My under eye bags were directly under my eyes and now that area is so much better. Now I notice about an inch below where my bags were (where I didn't have an issue before) it looks like I have these ugly indents. Is it something that can be corrected? When I look at myself close in the mirror I don't notice it, but when I back up - yikes. Makeup does not cover it. Any advice on how to proceed?
Answer: Indents after Volbella to tear thruffs Indents after Volbella injections to tear thruffs can happen and be related to overfill or swelling. It is best to wait 2 or 3 weeks and then decide together wt your injector. Sometimes it resolves on its own.Other times a little Hyluronidase is recommended.. Just be patient because doing anything too soon will be harmful.

Answer: Indents under Eyes after Volbella Hi and thank you for your question! The key question to be able to answer your question is the timing of injection. If it has been done recently and within 1-2 weeks, this might be related to swelling following the filler and you need to allow 2 weeks after the injections for the swelling to fully subside and most of the issues will go away on their own. If you had the filler more than 2 weeks ago, then there is the possibility of over-filling, or sometimes despite injecting right amount of filler, it absorbs too much water later on and causes this look. The treatment in both case is the same - revision of the filler with injection of hyaluronidase. I hope it helps and good luck!

Answer: Swelling tear trough Thankyou for your question. It appears that you have swelling from the filler and this is causing the "indent" Not everyone should have tear trough filler as it can cause swelling. You may also have had too much injected or too superficial placement . The filler needs to be dissolved. Hope this helps

Answer: Cheek lines after tear trough filler So those lines you are talking about are where the Zycomatic-cutaneous ligament attaches to the skin (from the bone). When there is swelling from trauma in the tear trough region, the fluid is trapped above that ligament. Ligaments don't stretch so the skin then pouffs out. I hate cannulas in this region for this reason! That ligament defines the lower border of the malar mound or festoon. There is spongy tissue here which "holds" onto the fluid for quite a while. If it just from swelling it will eventually resolve, but often, especially with cannulas, the area is injured/pierced and filler gets into the malar mound. If that is the case it wont go away on its own. Sometimes it is helpful to put some filler deep on the cheek under that ligament to help support it. I'd give it at least a month to see if it will resolve on its own. If not consider 'camouflage' filler to the deep medial cheek fa pad or vitrace to the area to take out any excess filler. Hope this is helpful. Best of luck to you, Dr. Amy
