Having chin/jawline surgery tomorrow I'm super scared because it's only local anesthesia. How bad is the pain, really??

It is reasonable to be apprehensive about the procedure. I've performed the procedure on my patients under both general anesthesia and under local anesthesia. It is an area that can be easily blocked or numbed with lidocaine. As far as after surgery, most of my patients take a mild pain medication that is all that is typically required.

Thanks for sharing.  I have performed thousands of facelifts, neck lifts, chin liposuction under local anesthesia and oral valium.  It is absolutely normal to be nervous in anticipation of a procedure.  Second thoughts also are normal.  Ultimately you need to decide for yourself if you want local or iv sedation. I can only tell you from my perspective and experience that my patients do very well and are comfortable with this procedure under local. Your surgeon will talk to you again before you procedure and answer any concerns.
