32, male, is what I want (more masculine shape) achievable? (Photos)

Question

I’m a 32 year-old male and I’ve always felt like my nose is just a shapeless blob on my face with no definition to it. The main thing I’d want is a more straight, defined bridge to give my nose a more masculine shape. I’d also like the wings narrowed and the tip reduced to not look upturned. My friend took a photo of me and the bar lighting actually gave me something similar to what I’d want, if my nose could look like that with narrower wings I’d be happy. Is it achievable with rhinoplasty?

Hello! Thank you for your question.From the photo you provided I can say that you have a bulbous tip and very thick skin. Your nose may improve according to your wishes. The healing process will be much longer because of the thick skin. Also when I looked your side photos your chin is very behind and I also suggest you chin filler with rhinoplasty surgery. Hi @reeceintaiwan! Thank you for sending your photos. I recommend seeing an expert rhinoplasty specialist for in person examination. There are several options for you that can be determined after examination.  A rhinoplasty in my opinion is one of the most difficult procedures to perform. In my practice, I utilize piezosurgery. Piezosurgery is a more gentle technique that allows for greater precision. Less bruising and swelling is common with Piezosurgery. In a typical rhinoplasty, a hammer and chisel technique is performed leading to more inadvertent fractures. Best of Luck, Dr. Nima!

In my professional opinion, it seems you have a thick skin envelope which is a limitation in rhinoplasty and requires some preparations before surgery such as fractional CO2 laser treatment. Furthermore, you can benefit from closed atraumatic rhinoplasty which fat tissue removal can give you a more defined nose tip along with wing surgery to bring your nose in from the front. However, you need to set realistic expectations for the nose reduction as doctor can reduce as much as your nose tissues allow. Moreover, as i can see you also have a weak chin, so augmentation in your weak chin can significantly improve your side chain and harmonize your side profile.

Yes, it's definitely achievable. Narrowing your nose base and the wings of your nose, reducing the projection, and reducing some cartilage from the tip to give your nose more definition will achieve a masculine and natural result. With that said, I highly recommend you consider a chin implant along with rhinoplasty.
