I had 2 separate visits for lip filler and each appointment I received 1/2 syringe (1st visit I had Juvederm, 2nd restalyne Kysse) and the second time I also received 2 units of Botox for gummy smile. So I have 1 full syringe of filler in my lips. I’m at my 3 week mark and I only notice a slight difference but I’m unsure if this is normal or if my filler is gone. I want to add that only feel filler in my left side. My nurse also told me my lips are big enough.
Answer: Improving Lip Volume with Lip augmentation with Fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Volbella), Implants, Fat Thank you for your question. Most Doctors will start with one-syringe to avoid over-filling. These fillers, (Volbella, Restylane, Juvederm) are good to create a symmetrical and full lip. PDO Nova threads can also be used to improve shape and also provide lift. Fat or implants are a permanent alternative. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Underwhelming Lip Enhancement Dear Amanda,Thank you for posting your question. For most patients, 1 mL of lip filler ought to provide some sort of noticeable enhancement. So I can understand your frustration. However, the truth is that everyone is different, and some lips respond differently to a given filler than others. Part of the art of lip enhancement is knowing what is the right product for a particular patient’s lips. This involves a thorough assessment: detailed history; meticulous examination of the lips at rest, smiling, pouting; and, evaluating photographs. All of that must be done before selecting the product. Some patient’s lips tend to soak up the filler like a sponge, and so a few rounds of treatment (2-3 mL) over a period of time (6 months or so) is required to “build up” the lips to an appreciable volume. And sometimes the injector has to tweak which product they use—and the injection technique they use—from treatment to treatment to ensure the most effective and natural results.Lip enhancement with filler is one of my favourite non-surgical procedures, I take great pride in providing excellent, natural, but noticeable results. Check out my website for some before and afters and feel free to contact us if you have any further questions. Wishing you the best of luck!

Answer: Results after 1 syringe of dermal filler to lips Hi there, 1 syringe is a very small amount of filler- 1ml. Outcomes vary based on lip shape, natural lip volume, strength of muscles surrounding the mouth, metabolism, etc. If this is your first experience having dermal filler injected into the lips, it is likely that you just need more filler in order to build volume, based on what your goals are in terms of size/shape. Your injector should have discussed with you what to expect and what a realistic outcome would look like for you after 1 syringe. It is very unlikely that your dermal filler has dissolved from your lips so soon after injection- on average, most HA fillers with last between 5-9months in the lips. Different dermal fillers also have varying capabilities in terms of water absorption and therefore the amount of volume that results with injection. Definitely follow up with your injector!

Answer: 1 syringe for lip filler Hello Amandaweirr, Thank you for your question and for sharing your photos. I would definitely recommend a follow-up visit to evaluate your before and after photos (with consistent lighting + angles) and discuss what results you had in mind and what it is you would wish to achieve if your results are not completely a reflection of what you your goals are. It is not really about quantity as much as your goals, the injection technique and of course what looks good for your facial features. When it comes to lip filler, you really want to make sure it is a natural look and not "overdone" or artificial looking. Definitely have a follow-up visit to discuss with your injector. Hope his helps you. Best, Manish Khanna, MD FRCPC

Answer: You could always inject some more There is a slight difference in your before and after pictures, not sure if you only had filler placed for your bottom lip as the top lip looks the same. Generally it does not take much filler to have a profound effect on the lips. You should always get injected by a qualified physician to get the best results.
