I have some laxity concerns due to aging and weight loss. (39 yrs.) #1 complaint is the skin laxity under my chin/neck. #2 complaint is the early signs of "jowling" and many "parentheses" (see pic.) I have conflicting recommendations so far. 1 doc: "micro needling with RF (w Prp?) OR PDO threads would be my best bet" ? 2nd doc: "Ultherapy is my best bet, NO to pdo bc risk of scar tissue, complicating future facelift + pdo lifted skin has nowhere to go so I can end up w weird creases" ?
Answer: Early signs of skin laxity: Know all your options Thank you for providing photos along with your question. Based on these images, you may benefit from a combination of treatments. If you prefer the non-surgical route, dermal fillers can help restore lost volume and instantly lift your skin. Profound RF uses radiofrequency energy to produce new collagen, improving mild to moderate skin laxity in the neck and jawline. Lasers may also be used to heat the skin and encourage collagen production for skin tightening. A PDO thread lift can also give you a non-surgical facelift. To determine the best treatment or combination of treatments, I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon who can assess your skin quality and facial profile, customize the best treatment plan for you, and ensure the best possible outcome.

Answer: Morpheus 8 Hi @SouthernBelle82! I recommend Morpheus 8. Morpheus8 is a non-surgical treatment for full body skin resurfacing, skin tightening, and fat reduction of stubborn areas. It uses minimally invasive fractional radiofrequency energy (RF) to penetrate the skin deeper than other microneedling devices, triggering the skin’s natural healing response to promote skin tightening and lifting.

Answer: Non-surgical lower face and neck rejuvenation Thank you for your question. There are a variety of treatments available, all of which have various pros and cons. Microneedling is a good way to improve skin texture and stimulate collagen. It takes multiple treatments but requires nearly no downtime. I also like Radiesse for adding volume, and as it absorbs, it also stimulates collagen. I have never seen effective, long-lasting results with PDO threads. I hope this helps, and all the best. -Dr. P

Answer: Skin Tightening for the Neck -- Kybella, Ultherapy, Thermage, PDO NovaThreads vs VASER Hi-Def, ThermiRF, Renuvion, BodyTite A combination approach would give the most improvement. Nonsurgical options such as Kybella, PDO NovaThreads, and Ultherapy do well in combination for skin tightening, but the results are mild compared to surgical options. I would recommend a VASER Hi-Definition Liposuction with ThermiRF, Renuvion (J Plasma) and InMode BodyTite to contour and tighten the chin and neck. A neck lift can be performed at the same time, if you're a good candidate. I suggest seeing a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist to develop a personalized treatment plan that works for you. Best, Dr. Emer.
