Face sagging from filler - would nasal filler help? (photos)

Question

My cheeks were already great but I stupidly had cheek filler and the lady put too much. As a result this year my cheeks have clearly sagged. There is a large pocket of excess skin on both sides. I saw a specialist last month that placed a tiny amount of filler in my upper cheeks but this has not improved it and made no difference to my cheek sag. Someone else told me they could do nothing to help, but would nasal filler help? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, and thank you for your question. While fillers may stretch the skin a little as it restores volume, your skin should be elastic enough to go back to its original form after the fillers wear off. However, overfilling an area may stretch the soft tissues and cause the skin to sag. I recommend only seeking treatments from reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeons, especially those with an extensive experience with injectables. These experts will not only have the skill and experience to use injectables, but they also have the aesthetic eye to produce natural-looking results and facial harmony. During your in-person consultation, your surgeon can assess your skin and recommend the best treatment plan to address your sagging skin. Your procedure options may include additional injectables, a PDO thread lift, or other skin-tightening procedures.

At least from the photos provided, there seems to be the appearance of what are known as "parallel laugh lines" when smiling. In other words, at rest the area would appear relatively smooth, but with a smile, a series of these parallel wrinkles appear. If this is indeed so here, then the treatment would be the injection in a fanning pattern of a resilient HA filler beneath and at about 90 degrees to the direction of the wrinkles, which would act as a support and counter-force to diminish the appearance of these troublesome accordion-like lines with smiling. You would be wise to consult a board certified cosmetic dermatologist and make sure to check out his/her before and after photos of this technique before agreeing to proceed. Best of luck.

Nasal filler will not address the smile lines.  You can explore Morpheus8 as an option.  This treatment uses RF technology combined with microneedling to improve overall skin tone and texture.
