Will fillers help with my face asymmetry? (photos)

Question

I have been noticing a lot of facial asymmetry and both side of my face are Completely different. One side of my face I like and then the other is jaw in bigger and my chin is flatter? Is this something that filler can fix or what are my options?

Hello, and thank you for your question. First, I’d like to point out that asymmetrical facial features are completely normal. We all have them, and they are often the result of genetics, aging, and lifestyle factors. Second, there are cosmetic treatments that can fix asymmetry issues, especially if you feel that correcting them would give you more self-confidence. Botox to the masseter muscle can help soften its appearance and give you a narrower-looking jawline. Dermal fillers may also be used to enhance and sculpt your chin to make it more prominent. There are laser and energy devices as well that can help sculpt or contour your lower face. To learn more about your treatment options, I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with an extensive experience with injectables. Your surgeon can do a proper evaluation of your skin and profile, check for asymmetry issues, customize the best treatment plan, and ensure the best possible outcome.

We all have facial asymmetry to some degree.  Botox and fillers are great tools to help improve this.  Botox can be used to help even out brows and address jawline asymmetry.  Fillers can be used to improve facial contours and address volume discrepancies.  One of the benefits of filler is that you can go slowly and build up to the look you are wanting. Your asymmetry is classic with one side longer than the other and one fuller. It is also the normal, as almost no one has a symmetric face. If this really bothers you, an experienced plastic surgeon who understands the anatomy and modalities available, with discussion with you to determine what really bothers you (since it cannot be absolutely corrected) can determine what can be done to reduce what you see as a problem. This is not for 90% of the injectors so be careful who you choose.
