Energy devices can be used to tighten skin as well as to destroy fat. There is a narrow window of temperature where skin rejuvenation and tightening can be achieved. If the temperature is too low, you don't get any results and if it is too high you risk scarring the skin and causing apotosis of the fat tissue. Sometimes we intentionally try to destroy fat with laser and RF energy, but in the face we usually do not want to cause fat loss. Devices like focused ultrasound and and RF microneedling that target the face can often deliver too much energy and cause destruction of the facial fat making the patient look even older. SylfirmX was engineered from the ground up to deliver precisely the correct amount of energy and cuts off before actual scarring of the skin or destruction of the fatty tissue can occur. As long as you stay within the recommended parameters, you should not have to worry about fat and volume loss with SylfirmX treatments.

Hello and thank you for your question! The success (or otherwise) of RF treatments are largely dependent on the person performing the treatment rather than the device itself! That being said, there are ways to reduce bulk with RF devices when desired. The risk of accidental volume loss with Sylfirm X is generally lower than with more aggressive RF devices, as it primarily focuses on tightening and improving skin quality rather than aggressively heating fat layers. However, excessive or overly aggressive treatment settings, particularly in individuals with already thin skin or low facial fat, could still contribute to some fat loss over multiple sessions.

If volume loss is a concern, it's best to work with an experienced provider who can customize the treatment settings based on your specific skin type and goals.
