Can CO2 laser be used to remove a tattoo partially? Allergic to colored ink but hoping to keep outline.

I've heard that ablation laser therapy/CO2 laser therapy is a safer option to remove a tattoo one is allergic to, as other laser therapies can cause systemic hypersensitivity as the ink is released into the body. Can this type of laser therapy remove the colour (the ink that the person is allergic to), while leaving the black outline untouched and still aesthetically pleasing?
