I love the size and shape of my lips while my mouth is closed and neutral but when I smile my top lip looks extremely thin.. Should I get lip injections to fix this or will my lips look odd when my mouth is closed.
Answer: Lip Augmentation Thank you for your question.Injectable Fillers are products used to help improve the appearance of facial lines, wrinkles and can be used to restore volume and youthfulness to the face. Dermal fillers are injected into the skin or closely under the skin to improve appearance. Fillers can be used to augment thin lips as well. There are many types of injectable fillers which can be classified according to the specific brand or type of filler. The cost of filler varies according to the type of product used and how much product is required to achieve the desired effect. To be sure what is best for you , see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment.I hope this helps.

Answer: Lip Filler Candidacy I suggest you consult a board certified facial plastic surgeon to receive the highest-quality care, treatment, knowledge and skill available. Candidates for lip augmentation include: thin lips, wrinkled lips due to aging or smoking, asymmetrical lips or those in need of lip reconstruction.Although lip augmentation with fillers is an ideal procedure for adding volume to thin lips, it is not permanent. For a more permanent solution there are several options. These options include fat injections, direct lip lift, sub-nasal lip lift and corner lip lift. An excellent technique for lip augmentation is fat injections. It offers the only natural method for potential permanent results. Fat is aspirated from another part of the body, such as the abdomen, and then injected into the lips. Since fat cells are living tissue, the body will recognize them and new capillaries will attach to the cells to keep them permanently alive. Since the fat cells are from the patient’s own body, they are not recognized as foreign and will not cause an allergic reaction. The fat transfer technique may require two to three treatments to achieve a permanent result as the body absorbs much of the injected fat.

Answer: Filler for thin upper lips. Great question, yes if you were a patient of mine I would say this could definitely be safely improved with a lip filler. Your lips do look great while at rest, but I do see what you are noticing. Making a choice to try fillers is a very personal one, and it has to come from you. But, if what is holding you back is concern, the hyaluronic acid fillers are not permanent so it is not an irreversible decision.
