Is a lateral canthoplasty to lower the outer corner and extend the eye safe to do so?

Is lateral canthoplasty such as the ones done in Korea safe to do so? This procedure lowers and extends the other corner of the eye so reduce the slanty look of the eye. I'm not Asian per se but would this benefit someone wanting a more straight cross wider eye
