What are your thoughts on cat eye surgery? Why won't doctors in the USA, UK or Australia perform it?

I believe cosmetic eyelid and facial surgery needs to be natural. Yes eye shape can be changed but natural aesthetic and of course function of the eyes need to be considered. One can have surgery to create more natural almond shaped eyes.

The mid face brow lift suspension procedure +/- canthoplasty is often referred to as Fox eye, Cat eye or Ponytail Lift. This procedure is a complex and advanced procedure, there are limited surgeons in Australia who can offer this technique. Myself I have been performing deep plane face and neck lifting for many years and have traveled to America and Turkey to watch a lot of cat eye and ponytail lift procedures and now perform quite a lot of the mid face brow suspensions procedures. Not every patient is suitable to have canthoplasty at the same time as the mid face brow suspension, as it may not suit their facial features. I believe other doctors choosing not to perform said procedure may prefer to only perform procedures of a natural looking end result. In saying this I am not trying to scare people off. The mid face brow lift procedure does look very good on the right patient.

Dear Ozzi,Until reading your question today, I didn't even know that cat eye surgery was a "thing". Your description of it - "unnatural look", "scary" - makes me think it's probably a type of surgery I might leave to others.Good luck
