Can you bruise in some areas and not other areas after liposuction? I'm 5 days post op.

Question

I have had 2 lipo surgeries for lipodema of legs. The 1st concentrated on thighs/saddlebags, the 2nd on hips/flanks to help reduce appearance of buttocks. There's a pocket of small saddlebag area on each hip which my surgeon says is fluid, but I fear this is an area of fat instead that was missed between the 2 ops as I had no bruising in this area. I'm only 5 days post second operation so I'm still waiting for fluid/swelling to reduce - but do you only bruise in areas where it was operated?

I would begin with our Hidef liposuction protocol that includes fibrous release, fat grafting, lipocavitation, liposculpture, PRP SC, liposonix, and RF multiplane tissue tightening. 
  
Secondarily, I would employ the Brazilian cellulite technique to eliminate scar tethering. Combined with fibrous release, many of the deep scar indentations can be improved.

Thanks for your question.
Bruising typically occurs after liposuction. The amount may depend on how much your tissues typically bruise and how much liposuction was performed - but the latter doesn't necessarily always correlate in that fashion. Indeed u may occasionally even bruise more in areas that were suctioned less.
In your particular case if there is fluid it may disappear with time or my be aspirated; but if it's not fluid it will not resolve. So time wil tell.

Liposuction bruising is caused by poor postoperative compression. I will typically see increased bruising in areas that are not padded well. We utilize form fitted compression garments that have customized foam inlays.
