Today is the first time I got to shower from having a full TT 6 days ago. Blood pressure drop after taking off binder?

After I took it off went in the shower and came out I felt light headed and dizzy like I was going to pass out ( I didn't have a hot shower ). This also happened in my doctors office after they took it off for the first time after 5 days. Could this be happening from my blood pressure dropping or am I working myself up for nothing? Its really scaring me that this is happening.

The situation you are describing may happen after lipo/ tummy tuck.  The garment keeps a constant pressure on the areas,  when it is removed, the areas which were worked on, may cause fluid shifts into those areas,  if you normally run on the lower normal of blood pressure,  this effect may cause dizzyness.  Usually try to be sitting on a bed when you take the garment off, before standing stay put for 2 to 3 minutes for your body to adjust, then slowly stand.  And of course have someone with you also.  Discuss this problem with your surgeon so he can do an evaluation and physical exam to see if there is anything else.

Hello,Thank you for your question. It is not uncommon for patients to feel dizzy during the first week when they stand quickly, take off the binder to shower etc. I recommend that you drink plenty of fluids, move slowly and have someone with you to help with activities. Let your surgeon know if you aren't improving,All the best

When experiencing dizziness after removing your garment or when showering there are a few things you can do.  The first is go slowly.  Take your binder off while seated.  Then sit on the edge of the bed or chair for a minute or two before standing.  Third is to have someone nearby to help you should you get dizzy or unbalanced.  This dizziness should improve as you continue to heal.  If it worsens or you have further concerns, speak with your surgeon.

IT is not uncommon in the first several days after surgery to feel lightheaded when you stand/move about. As your body recovers from anesthesia and from the surgery it may take awhile to regulate blood pressure like normal. As noted below, please stay hydrated and take your time shifting from laying to sitting, then standing. That will help your body accommodate. If you are still concerned please discuss with your physician.
