Is the swelling and “cartoon look” normal? (Photos)

This is totally normal swelling after a lip injection. Lips can get very swollen for the first few days. Ice for today and tomorrow and you will see improvement.    

Swelling and bruising are common after lip injections and can take up to two weeks to resolve.  Continue to follow the advice of your injector.  Some patients find using the supplements Arnica and Bromelain to be helpful as well.  If after two weeks you still have concerns, return to your injector for an evaluation.

I can appreciate you being worried, but swelling this soon after lip filler injections is very common and yes, it can sometimes be "cartoon-y". The swelling should slowly decrease as the days go by, but give yourself two weeks before you fully judge how you feel about the treatment you received.

This is meant to be reassuring that all lips will be swollen after the injection for about 3 days. Some injection materials swell more than others and some people swell more than others. Give it a few days and if its still too much at about a week then go back to your injector for some some dissolving! Gooooood luck!
