Im 26 years old, no kids and healthy, my weigh was 123 lbs before lipo and still weigh the same 5 days post op. I had Vaser liposuction done on my lovehandles and lower abdomen. Im very swollen, have minor bruising and my stomach actually looks thicker than it did before the surgery, im worried i will not have good results. Is this normal? When will the swelling go down?
Answer: Swelling after VASER lipo This is completely normal for that time period. If you are wearing the garment and having massage this will slowly reduce. In the first few weeks you tend to retain water (hence the swelling) and thus your weight will not reduce, but sometimes increase. Be patient and adhere to the aftercare instructions. If worried go see your surgeon.

Answer: Swelling After Vaser Lipo Many studies indicate that there is less injury to the body with Vaser than with traditional #liposuction. Recovery from Vaser Liposuction is based on the level of soreness and bruising experienced by the patient. But, it can vary among patients. As with traditional liposuction, there are no large incisions or effect on the muscle and other underlying tissue. Therefore, #healing time may be less than anticipated by most. Therefore, Vaser patients may experience less #pain or discomfort, #swelling (#edema) and bruising post procedure due to the nature of the technique. Swelling is not uncommon. Gentle #walking may increase circulation and help to alleviate swelling. But you must not strain or push yourself. Also, if you were provided a post-procedure #garment, be sure you are wearing it until prescribed otherwise by your doctor. The purpose of the post-procedure #garment is to provide some gentle #support and to reduce swelling. If it feels too tight or causes pain, take it off. Many patients wear the #elastic garment for several weeks after procedures, as directed by their doctor; some choose to wear it longer for several months for comfort. The final results of the procedure are typically most noticeable 2-4 months following the #Vaser. So, you must have patience. The swelling will gradually diminish while the contours of the treated area(s) can continue to improve up to one year post procedure; becoming more apparent in appearance. If you have concerns about your healing, or pain that you question to be unusual, it is important to call your plastic surgeon to discuss these further asked to be examined.

Answer: Weight post op I tell all my patients to not get on the scaled post op for a period of 4-6 weeks. The tumescent solution and swelling that occurs will increase your weight post op! This can be alarming for patients, but 8-10 weeks your weight should normalize, continue with a good diet post op and trust the process. Close follow up with your surgeon is advised. I also have all my patients get lymphatic massages to help manually decrease the swelling! Hope this helps

Answer: Swelling after Liposuction & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave, hyperbaric oxygen Swelling can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
