5 weeks post-gynecomastia surgery nipples still pointy? Will they flatten out eventually? (photos)

Hello, I got the gyno-surgery done, and I am 5 weeks post-surgery. However the nipples are still pointy, especially the right one. It is visible without the vest. I have to add that I can feel a small lump right above the incision area, underneath each nipple (post-op). Prior to surgery my right nipple was the bigger one naturally. Is the pointyness caused by the lumps? Will they flatten out eventually? If not, I am disappointed. I have added pre- & post op pictures that were just taken.

Thank you for your question about male breast reduction, gynecomastia, chest sculpting, and pointy nipples after gynecomastia surgery. Five weeks after gynecomastia surgery is too soon to determine anything. I would give yourself about 8-10 weeks for all the breast swelling to subside. I believe your pointy nipples after male breast reduction surgery are caused by a combination of swelling and scar tissue. Usually, both these issues resolve with time. In the meantime, I would suggest you continue to wear a very tight chest compression garment to reduce any swelling. If your nipples are still pointy after 10 weeks after your gynecomastia surgery, you and your plastic surgeon may want to consider a revision. Good luck! Although most swelling dissipates around 6 weeks, every patient heals at his own rate. Be patient. The appearance of your nipples will improve as the swelling fully resolves. Best of luck.
