How long does numbness after a facelift last? 2 months post-op.

Hello, thank you for your question. To still be numb after this amount of time is normal and you should not be concerned. Sensory nerves in your face grow back at different paces for different people. Usually some feeling should return at around 3 months post-op, but this varies and it could take longer…even up to 6 months or one year. Good luck! 

Numbness is a very common side-effect following a facelift procedure. As sensory nerves recover, most patients start to notice a gradual resolution of numbness over the course of 2-3 months, but for some patients it can take up to a year to regain complete feeling to the areas that were operated on. Be sure to keep all of your follow up appointments with your surgeon to ensure that you are well on your way to recovery and healing properly.

Numbness in the cheeks and areas undermined or lifted during surgery is entirely normal and predictable. Usually the area of numbness begins to shrink 2–3 months after surgery, but residual areas of numbness can take a year or more to totally resolve.

If understand the question correctly you mean the numbness over the dissection skin? this numbness usually take few months to resolve.

Thank you for your great question. Numbness after a face lift is typically temporary and the feeling comes back at about 3 months. It can take longer, even up to a year. The sensory nerves grow at about a millimeter a month (an inch a day) so it can certainly take some time. Best of luck.

Thanks for your question. Numbness is very common after facelift. Generally this improves over several months, but at times can take up to 12 -18 months to fully resolve. In the meantime, you should address your concerns with your surgeon.
