Why no change from CoolMini at 10 weeks? (photo)

From your photos, your skin laxity may be contributing to the lack of perceived effect. Hopefully you have noticed the fat thickness underneath the skin has diminished, but if the skin is still loose, you may require additional skin tightening with something like Ultherapy to help lift the skin.

Hello, Thank you for your questions and photos. Based on the pictures there is some improvements, but you will see results up to 3-4 months! So it should still improve. That area commonly needs more than one treatment. So after 3-4 months, re-evaluate and determine if you need another treatment. Good luck!

Three to four week mark is still early to say that coolsculpting didn't work. It will continue to get better but typically 2 applications are needed to get good results and there appears to be some laxity in the skin too so adding ultherapy might enhance the results. 

Hi there! Great question! Results from coolsculpting, including the cool mini, can take up to 3 months. Some patients will notice results after 4 or so weeks, but not every patient. We recommend every patient plan on two treatment sessions, spaced about 4-8 weeks apart. We even prefer 6-8 weeks, ideally, because that gives us a better idea of what is happening from the first treatment session. Additionally, we are often doing two cycles per treatment, overlapping in the center. This allows for more results in the central portion, and more contouring along the jawline. We even do 3 cycles for some patients, if there is subcutaneous fat more laterally along the sides of the jawline. Some/ most patients need the full 3 months from the final treatment, to see full results. I recommend you return to the practice for follow up pics & to consider a 2nd treatment session for best results, if they advise you so. Its helpful to see the before and after pics from the practice. We use professional flash photography in the same room/background etc. to allow for the most accurate assessment of changes. Best, Dr. Grant Stevens

Results can even be seen up to 12-14 weeks post treatment. I would give it a little more time and ask to see comparison photos from before and after your treatment. Most patients get maximum results with a re-treatment of the same area. I do see some skin laxity in your submental area, but recently CoolSculpting has been FDA cleared to improve the appearance of under the chin skin laxity.

An evaluation is critical to determine who will benefit from cool mini and who will not. Loose tissue does not benefit significantly from either kybella or cool mini. Your double chin is very tiny- I think Kybella would have been a better move for you.

You look like you have a combination of fat and skin laxity.  Most patients need 2 or more treatments to see the results they desire.  It is hard to tell with out examining the area, but regardless you will likely need a skin tightening procedure like Thermitight or Ulthera to deal with any remaining skin laxity.  I also wanted to mention that there does appear to be a difference between the two photos, even if it is not entirely what you are looking to accomplish.

Thanks for your questions. You should start to see results around 3-4 weeks, but the results will still keep getting better up to 3 months, so be patient! Most people like to get 2 treatments to get optimal results, or you could get a Kybella treatment to help tighten the skin more. Good Luck!

We advise all patients that desire a Cool Mini neck treatment that they should have two treatments. One treatment is not enough in most people. We sell it this way. It helps remove some fat but does not reduce neck skin looseness. Unfortunately it doesn't show significant improvement every time. Nothing does. From the pictures provided, I can appreciate better definition of your jaw line and a slight improvement of the submental area on your after pics.  CoolSculpting is great at getting rid of stubborn fat. However, there is some variability among patients in the percentage of fat reduction per cycle and sometimes another round of CoolSculpting may be needed for optimal results. We typically recommend two cycles of CoolMini for the treatment of submental fat (double chin). I hope this help. All the best, Dr. Michon
