Endymed is one of several radiofrequency treatments. These treatments work by inducing energy into the skin and subcutaneous layers. The effect of this is the production of collagen. Scar tissue is also made up of collagen. In some ways, scar tissue and the formation of collagen are synonymous. To me personally, it does not make sense to use treatments that create collagen for excessive scar formation after surgery. Patients typically have the most amount of firmness at three weeks after the procedure. This typically resolves completely with time. It's not possible to give specific assessments without an individual examination. If your plastic surgeon has experience with this technology and has seen proven results, then it may be an appropriate treatment for you. Best of luck, Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
