Early 30s with jowls/mid cheek depletion, what would help with volume loss? (Photos)

Question

What would help with jowls and mid cheek volume loss? I've tried fillers but they don't last long. Also I've tried lasers. I've been hearing a range of things including neck lipo, buccal fat removal, mini facelift, Morpheus 8, chin filler, chin implant.

Thank you for your question and for providing photos. If you like the results you achieved with fillers but simply want to mimic those results with a long-term solution, you may benefit from facial fat grafting or cheek implants to increase volume in this area. Fat grafting removes fat from one area of the body and places it into the facial areas via injection. Custom-fit silicone cheek implants can increase cheekbone projection to achieve the desired fullness and definition, the results of which are permanent unless the implants are removed. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. They will be able to review your filler injection history, discuss your aesthetic goals with you, and help you decide on the best course of action.

Facial sculpting and contouring can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Countour, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra, which would give improvement in facial balance. Fat or implants are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Hi and thank you for the pictures. two basic processes occur as part of facial ageing. One is facial volume loss and the other is loosening of the overlying skin envelope of the face.

Some kind of skin tightening would be great for you, there are many energy based devices such as ultherapy or microRF. That combined with some facial fillers would be a good place to start and if you dont like injectable fillers, facial fat transfer is also an option.

Other options include lifting with Threads.

From these photographs presented, your cheeks appear just fine and your volume is just fine for your age. You do not have jowls. You do have a recessive chin profile, so consider placement of a chin implant to augment your chin forward for better facial balance and proportions. If you add more volume to your cheeks, it will exacerbate the recessive chin issue. In our practice, placement of a chin implant can be accomplished under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure which takes approximately 30 minutes.
