Large visible hard lump size golf ball above belly button and fluid build up. Should I massage?

What you describe is consistent with a seroma or possibly even a hematoma. If this is the case it's best treated by aspiration.

It is difficult to tell you the cause of the lump without a proper exam but I think you are on the right track booking an appointment with your surgeon as soon as the office opens.  If there are concerning changes you could seek medical attention sooner, for example in the ER.

You definitely want to make an appointment to see your PS. It sounds like you have a hematoma and/or seroma. You want your compression garment to be tight. Massaging can help if the lump is fat necrosis, scar, or hematoma.

Please call your plastic surgeon. He or she needs to know what's going on with you.All surgeons have either a way of contacting them after hours or someone covering for them.  It sounds like you may have a seroma.That is a fluid buildup that can happen after liposuction.Generally, they need to be drained, often multiple times.  While seromas are not dangerous, they need to be managed.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
