I have a large seroma on my outer left thigh and no one is helping me! I dont know where to go from here? (photo)

Had lipo in turkey so its to far to go for aspiration. been to my doctors he wont do it. been had ultra scan states i do have seroma. No doctor there would do it. Even called a private clinic. Please help its uncomfortable & needs draining asap its large & looks awful aswell as uncomfortable.

Hello,Although you give little details, this is likely contaminated with bacteria and will not succumb to multiple aspirations. It will like require an incision and drainage procedure combined with decortication (capsulectomy) and obliteration with quilting sutures. If you are prepared for that (and what choice do you have?), you understand that infection and recurrent seroma is a possibility, and you are willing to pay for it, then it is hard for me to believe that an ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeon would not be willing to help you. Thank you for your pictures and questions. Sorry to hear about your complication but this is what happens when you have surgery in a place where you cannot follow up with your surgeon. No one else wants to inherit another doctor's complication and it is hard to find someone to care for you. Had you had your procedure done by a local board certified plastic surgeon, it would be their obligation and pleasure to care for you during this process.Best of luck!

You need recurrent drainage till the seroma is gone, tight compression, lymphatic massage and RF treatments like venus legacy.  Please see an expert.  Best, Dr. Emer

It’s hard to tell from the picture.  It’s unfortunate that you have this condition.  Is it too small to drain?  Most of the time an interventional radiologist can do image guided aspiration.  You should go to your primary care physician for a referral.  May need to visit the ER as the last resort.
