Hi, i had a rhinoplasty 10 years ago. I recently had botox in my glabella, and the procerus injection was placed just under my eyebrows. I now experience that the tip of my nose has changed appearence and is drooping, is this possible? And if so, will it return to normal? Its causing me alot of anxiety, especially when i smile. thanks

For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

If the injected Botox was as you described it should not affect the tip of your nose. I encourage you to visit with your injector to discuss your concerns.

This is a highly unlikely scenario. Nose drooping when you smile can be caused by the depressor nasi muscle which is a small muscle just under the columella. This muscle is typically not affected by injectables performed in the upper 1/3 of the face. It can be corrected during an open rhinoplasty by surgical manipulation, but is typically not treated by injectables.

Botox placed in the glabellar area should not affect your nasal tip unless you were too active right after receiving Botox or rubbed your nose too soon. Any Botox effect will wear off, but increasing your exercising will speed things up to wear it off sooner.

Hello! The procerus is a part of the nasalis group of muscles which are responsible for the flaring of the nostrils. It is possible that the ability to flare your nostrils has affected the appearance of the nose tip. Regardless, any effects of Botox are temporary and usually self resolve in 3-4 months time. Hope that helps!
