I have a bulbous nasal tip that broadens when I smile. Is Botox a good solution for treating a bulbous nose? What are some other nonsurgical options I can consider?
Answer: Why liquid rhinoplasty may be right for you Thank you for your question. The best non-surgical treatment for changing the appearance of your nose would be liquid rhinoplasty. This option uses hyaluronic acid dermal filler to minimize bumps and correct asymmetries to bring your nose into balance with the rest of your facial features. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced expert injector. They will be able to discuss your concerns with you and determine the best treatment option to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Nasal tip Hi @Inventive806760! This is an excellent question. The nasal tip is made up of cartilage and soft tissue, therefore, Botox would not be helpful. Neurotoxins like Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin work by weakening muscle activity. The solution would be a rhinoplasty. Best of luck to you!

Answer: Not typically The bulbous nasal tip is caused by large cartilages that create the anatomic deformity that you see. Neurotoxins are utilized to weaken muscles in the face. Therefore, the toxin will have no effect on the cartilage and is typically not useful in treating a bulbous nasal tip. This deformity is typically treated only by rhinoplasty.

Answer: Nasal tip slimming Thank you for your question. Unfortunately botox would not be helpful, as most of the tip consists of cartilage and soft tissue. Non invasive options could include a retinoic acid derivative or isotretinoin. Depending on anatomy however, surgery may be the best option. I hope this is helpful, and all the best to you. -Dr. P
