Sunburn after hair transplant 7 days, should I be worried?

After my hair transplant i went on holiday, after 7 days i did a tour on a scooter, and the weather was cloudy / sun. When the sun came trough i was wearing a hat. In the eve at home i saw mine forehead was red. Not massive, but it had def some sunburn. My head was fine, maybe it was protected with the scabs yet? But Iam really worried that this is affecting the results. It is after 5 weeks now and in the front my new hair doesn't fall out but is not growing either. Thanks Ronald

When we caution against sun exposure after HT it is not because of an effect on graft growth but rather the potential for scarring and skin pigmentation changes.Based on your description I doubt that you will have a problem.

Sun exposure is not recommended after surgery but if it already happened there isn't much you can do.  Sunburn can potentially discolor your scalp and scar.

After seven days, probably not an issue, though sunburn in general is bad for your skin.  Not much to do now but wait and see how things grow, then follow up with your doctor.

It is never a good idea to expose your grafts to sun because the UV light can damage the healing but you will probably be ok.  In the future, wear a hat
