I would like to find out how many grafts would be needed to fill in the thinning area in the crown of my head. The total cost of the procedure would be extremely helpful as well.
Answer: Hair Transplant Thanks for the question. Based on your photos, the 1000-1500 grafts might be good option for you, but it would be wrong to say something for sure. You should see a board certified surgeon. You can then plan the process together and discuss the results. I wish you all the best.

Answer: Hair transplant to crown area Several factors need to be considered and understood before undergoing a hair transplantation to the crown. Given the shape of the area and the direction of hair growth, the filling in of the crown is a challenging area to achieve complete coverage. Age is a very important factor when considering a hair transplant to the crown as well. Measures should be taken to help slow down the progression of hair loss to the crown particularly in younger patients as this area will only inevitably get larger with time. Early hair transplantation to the crown would only provide coverage for a certain amount of time as the crown hair loss will continue to progress. All these factors need to be understood before proceeding with a hair transplant to this area. This being said, your crown area would require a procedure of around 900-1,100 grafts from the photos submitted.

Answer: Crown coverage Crowns can be deceptively difficult to fill in. I would estimate 2000 grafts to fill in the crown, with always the possibility of a second procedure if the density needs to be increased.

Answer: Hair grafts to the crown This photo shows an intermediate phase miniaturization in the crown. The exact number of grafts needed will depend on the precise size of the zone you want filled and on your overall density expectations. Based on this photo, you likely need about 1500 grafts in this region. I recommend a consultation with a hair transplant specialist to further discuss hair loss and treatment options.
