Thanks for you question. Most people with or without nasal surgery get little or no airflow or olfactory improvement when the tip or sides of the nose are stretched. Those that do have narrowing of the nasal valve, an area of the nare formed by the junction of the upper and lower lateral cartilages that form the nasal tip. When there is rhinoplasty these cartilages are modified to improve appearance with the potential that the valve can be affected. If the valve narrows then breathing and therefore smell can be affected. An exam by a nasal surgeon can identify the valve area most affected and employ corrective measures, usually spreader grafts, to alleviate your problem. Good luck
