When can I start heavily working out? Like HIIT classes with weights and fast pace, and will I loose the fat in my boobs when i start working out again?
Answer: Work outs after FT We recommend to all our patients to abstain from high intensity/anaerobic workouts for 3 months post FT. This allows the blood supply of the new cells to connect to the old cells for permanent retention. Also, you want to avoid any bouncing or shearing during high intensity workouts like interval training as those motions can create disruption of blood supply to the new cells during the first months. We have a list of workouts for all of our patients on our Facebook Dr Bednar's fat transfer page.

Answer: Working Out Post Fat Transfer Thank you for your question regarding resuming a workout schedule after surgery. I tell my patients that light cardio, such as walking on a treadmill or riding a stationary bike, may be done at 3 weeks post operatively. Weights and yoga will be acceptable once the 6 week mark is reached. Congratulations on your recent surgery and all the best to you!

Answer: When can I start working out after fat transfer to breast procedure? 2.5 weeks post-op. Recovery is usually relatively quick. You will wear a sports bra for about six weeks, starting immediately after surgery. Many of my patients return to work after 4 - 7 days if that work is non strenuous and sedentary. Vigorous exercise should be postponed for two weeks. Thinner patients are outstanding candidates in my opinion, because the fat transferred is extremely resistant. Answer: Working out after fat transfer to the breasts You should always follow the guidelines of your surgeon, however after fat transfer to your breasts, I tell my patients to avoid heavy exercises or exercises that require a lot of bending or twisting for 4 weeks. This allows the fat donor sites to heal, and allows your breasts to heal as well because they will be quite swollen and need extra support when you first start to exercise (and you don't want to put on a really tight sports bra during this time). After the 4 weeks, I allow my patients to slowly work back up to their normal activities. Working out too early can also cause sweat to get into your incision sites, which are not fully healed yet.
