I had breast augmentation on 12 Jan 17, so I am now 6 weeks post op. I didn't require a breast lift and had very little asymmetry with my breasts pre-surgery. Before surgery I was a 34 A/B and now I'm measuring around a 34 DD. My concern is that my breasts are uneven. At one month they looked relatively symmetrical, but now it's very noticeable. I don't know if settling still needs to occur or if there is something I can do to help my left breast match my right one. Or should I be concerned?
Answer: Uneven breasts First of all let's start out with I think your results look great. I do see the minor difference in implant position between the left and right sides. Keep in mind that perfect symmetry rarely occurs in nature. Almost everyone has minor breast asymmetries. It is still relatively early in the healing process and capsular formation. Downward massage on the left side will probably improve the situation. Ensure that you discuss this with your surgeon first. Your breast appearance is likely to change in the next few months. Try not to get so analytical. Best wishes to you!

Answer: Your breast position may become more even as you heal. At 6 weeks, you’re still early in the healing process after having breast augmentation surgery. It can take up to 6 months for your breast implants to fully soften and settle into the pocket prepared by your plastic surgeon. During those months, one breast may settle sooner than the other one as your muscles and tissues stretch to accommodate the breast implants. You can check with your plastic surgeon to see if he thinks massaging or a band may help push the left breast implant down.

Answer: Uneven after augmentation Your left breast implant appears to be positioned higher than your right. At six weeks, there is still swelling and the implants have not completly settled, so there is a possibility this will resolve. I recommend using a band that sits over the top of the breast to help push the implant down, as well as vigorous massage. If the problem has not resolved by three months postop, i would surgically correct it.

Answer: Breast Augmentation Thank you for your question. You still have some healing to do. It can take 3 to six months for the breasts to drop into final position. I would not worry at this point. You look great! Contact your surgeon with any questions or concerns, Best wishes.

Answer: Breasts asymmetry Dear Jgc, Thanks for submitting your pictures. From observing your pictures , you appear to be C cup size (Victoria secrets makes the bra size smaller to make you feel better about your breasts size), with asymmetry , due to higher left submammary crease, that keeps the implant higher, creating a fuller upper pole. At 6 weeks time after surgery, it is early enough in the healing process, that there is high probability for the crease to drop further down, by performing intense implants displacement massage for about 2-3 months. If thing do not change after that period of time and you are still bothered by the asymmetry, discuss it with your surgeon. An inferior capsulotomy (scar release) that will lower the left sub mammary crease, will correct the asymmetry. All the best, Dr Widder
