Would facial fat transfer work on my smile lines? (Photo)

Question

Hello! I am not interested in fillers or botox. I have smile lines that seem to be genetic. I did lose 50 pounds about 10 years ago, but these did not show up until just this year. I am only 30 years old. All of my siblings even those younger than me have these too, so many they are genetic. Is this something i can fix by transferring fat to the area? price range? Or is a facelift needed. thank you

Hello and thank you for your question! Your smile lines, or nasolabial folds, could be improved through a few different modalities. As you've already said fillers are out of the question for you, I think low volume fat grafting to this area could see some good improvement towards the goals you are looking to achieve. Additionally, PRP Microneedling could provide some improvement if you do not want to go as invasive as fat grafting from the start, but overall fat grafting could help you get the results you seem to looking for. As always, it would be best to seek out an in-office consult with a plastic surgeon to best evaluate what procedures and techniques would best work for you and your desired aesthetic goals. Thank you for your question, after analyzed your pictures I can suggest fat transfer to the nasolabial folds to correct the wrinkles, please note that an small liposuction are must be performed in order to get the fat that will be transferred to that area.

Thank you for your photo.  Fat transfer, in your particular case, would best be suited for the folds as well as under the eyes where you see a shadow.  When these two areas are grafted together, it creates a very powerful appearance of a lift.

Fat transfer is not very good at treating these.
Fillers are far superior and if you don’t want to do fillers, then don’t do fat transfer.
Fillers and fat transfer are not equivalent in anyway.
Fillers are precise, predictable, and can be used in detail Small areas.
Grafting fat is completely different and works far better for giving diffuse overall volume.
Fillers really good results so that is the way to go if you want treatment but I think fat transfer will leave you disappointed and potentially regretful.
