Liposuction will not help flabby thighs. Unfortunately, we simply don’t have great surgical options for lower extremity Skin laxity with cellulite. Liposuction can easily make things worse, so be careful with that procedure, especially provider selection. Before, considering any permanent, irreversible procedure, ask providers to show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patient who had similar body characteristics to your own. If they don’t have a good collection of before and after pictures, then you probably shouldn’t have surgery with that provider. Liposuction can reduce the size of your thighs, but will not improve loose skin and can’t in fact make your skin worse. Lasers had virtually nothing to the Liposuction experience. A thigh lift may be an option, but that procedure really doesn’t have great patient satisfaction unless somebody has more severe skin laxity. I wish I could be more optimistic and you’ll probably find lots of providers, recommending liposuction and other treatments. The key is to see lots of quality before and after pictures before signing up for any permanent irreversible body contouring procedure. There are treatments for cellulite that can improve the worst areas. I have been impressed with Aveli for certain cellulite cases. Best, Mats, Hagstrom, MD
