Honestly I have never been more pleased with a Dr and every aspect of this experience. From day 1 when I messaged him on Instagram and received an almost immediate response to getting a consultation appointment the very next day because I was back visiting in NY but no longer live there. I was so comfortable with this man that I flew in from Florida just to have my surgery with him and trust me there are hundreds of very high end and qualified doctors in my area.

Dr Maffei, his staff, and my surgery were all exceptional. I had a double reverse tummy tuck and Vaser Lipo on my neck. The procedure was almost painless with more soreness instead. The recovery was quick and easy. The best news is I am SO happy with the results, I look many years younger and am so much more confident. Additionally, It’s not over when it’s over. Dr Maffei stays in regular contact with me, checking in on progress and having me send him pictures weekly.

I cannot recommend this man enough. Trust me you will not be disappointed in your results as well.

There are not enough stars to rate Dr Maffei. He has been incredible throughout my entire journey and my journey is not over. I first met Dr.Maffei in March of 2023. He was highly recommended by a friend of mine. My first visit, I quickly learned that he has a passion for what he does and really wants the best for his patients. I’ve also learned that each patient is their own individual case. Nobody is the same and he listens to what they want.

After my initial meeting with Dr. Maffei, I understood that I was a candidate for the Sleeve Gastrectomy. He explained thoroughly what it would entail and the preparation it would require on my end to be eligible. I have to admit… I was always that person who would say “just hit the gym… don’t be lazy”. Dr. Maffei made me comfortable with excepting the idea to the bariatric world.

My Sleeve Gastrectomy was scheduled for August 31, 2023 and there was a lot that had to be done until then. His staff, nutritionists, nurses, receptionists, etc… all helped me stay organized with my appointments and focused.

The procedure went very well, with no complications, and I returned home and back to work very quickly. My procedure took place on a Thursday and I was back to work by Monday. Keeping up with my appointments with Dr. Maffei and the nutritionist made the recovery much easier. Each time I met with them I learned something new and how lifestyle changes would promote success. I lost about 80 pounds in a year and loved watching the weight shed overtime (refer to photos). I enjoyed the positive feedback from friends and family, and I thought this was it! I finally was happy.

But I wanted more. When looking in the mirror I realized there was something that just wasn’t right. I explained to Dr. Maffei that although I shed the weight, I was frustrated with my stomach (refer to photos). He immediately knew what I needed. He suggested that since I was suffering from a small hernia, he recommended a ventral hernia repair and tummy tuck/abdominoplasty. With the trust that was built over the year in Dr. Maffei, I trusted his professional advice. We spoke about it a few times. Each visit he would say the same thing. Never did he get frustrated with my repetitive questions. He was super patient with me and my curiosity. I finally scheduled my tummy tuck for November 22, 2024.

There was a lot to be done and my procedure was longer than most. I did stay overnight in the hospital, and that was by choice, but happy I stayed. The recovery was much more lengthy than the sleeve, and I was told it would be. There were no surprises. Dr. Maffei and his team explained that this was going to be about a two week recovery process. I thought they were crazy and believed I would return to work quickly. Listen to your body! I took it one day at a time and returned to work two weeks later. My tummy tuck was scheduled for a Friday morning, and Dr. Maffei personally called me to check in on me within hours. His open communication is unlike any other. He encouraged me to call or text anytime. That meant even when he was hunting 20 feet high from a tree somewhere out in Iowa (no joke)!

I am 4 weeks out from the tummy tuck and feel great. I communicate with his previous patients for support, and continue to meet with the nutritionist. In addition, Dr. Maffei networks with other professionals to assist in the recovery process like lymphatic drainage massage therapists. He is very knowledgeable not only about the process, but the lifestyle thereafter. He is a doctor/artist. Dr. Maffei is the Picasso in the athletic body contouring world. He is amazing at what he does and I would hands down recommend him without having to research any further. He has changed my life and the life of many others.

I was originally looking for a scar revision of my c section . Dr Maffei was prompt in returning my message and we immediately had a consult going over my options . We ultimately decided on lipo sculpting in addition To improving the scar of my C-section scar . I am so happy with my results . Life changing !

Hello real selfers, the one procedure that I needed done the most had barely any reviews on real self. After doing my own research for about a year I finally got the procedure done and was lucky enough to have chosen Dr Maffei to do this procedure - The reserve tummy tuck.

What I had: two previous liposuctions, one done at a very early age and a secondary one to try and fix irregularities and the loose skin that I had, but it did not fix it. It only make matters worse. I am 5’7 and 125 pounds, small frame with loose skin in the abdomen

What I wanted: a tight, youthful stomach without having the traditional tummy tuck scar from hip to hip
To be able to wear crop tops in bikinis.

I did a handful of consultations with other surgeons before choosing Dr. Maffei. I had my mind set on the reversed tummy tuck however, not many surgeons seem to be experienced with doing them. I even had one surgeon tell me I needed to do an entire a tummy tuck along with a fleur de lis (this is where they cut hip to hip and from middle center of the chest all the way down to pubic area). Ladies, if you want to tighten your skin around the abdomen without having the traditional scar the reverse tummy tuck procedure is the way to go don’t let them tell you otherwise.

I flew about 3800 miles to see Dr Maffei, our consultation was great. I was able to do a FaceTime call with him and he answered any questions that I had and also made me feel very confident about the whole procedure. I felt very comfortable making the trip to New York.

Of all the surgeries I’ve done in the past I must say Dr Maffei has the best bedside manner of any surgeon I’ve dealt with. It is absolutely genuine, and he made sure to follow up with me often. Anytime I had a question it was always answered right away. He has a great team of stuff that he works alongside with and his clinic is very clean.

I am about six weeks out from surgery now, and I’ve had no complications whatsoever. I flew home after about five days and my flight was a breeze. Dr Maffei and his staff make sure that I had everything I needed to go home with.

You will see in the pictures, how my stomach originally looked like and what it looks like now what a difference! I finally have my confidence back and don’t have to hide my stomach. I’ve never been happier.

I hope this review helps a lot of you out there who want to tighten the skin around their abdomen and don’t know who to go to or where to start. I was once sitting behind a laptop confused because there were little to no reviews on RealSelf about reverse tummy tucks.

After getting a divorce i decided to treat myself to something that would restore my confidence. I've never had plastic surgery before and had to find the right surgeon, Dr Maffei is truly an artist! The best in the business! When I met with him, he was honest and genuine. I had 5 body sculpting lipo procedures done by him, he and his team made sure i was comfortable during and after my procedures. I couldn't have asked for better results, truly amazing. I was back at work in a few days. The confidence that i had lost was so quickly restored. Dr Maffei is the best of the best. His staff is just as fabulous. It's been a life changing experience for me, I feel like a million bucks honestly.

I cannot be more grateful for my experience with Dr Maffei. My liposuction journey started out a bit like a nightmare. The doctor I saw prior to Dr Maffei left me bumpy and bruised (not the results I had hoped for) with a very long and painful recovery.

Let’s rewind to 2021, I was not happy with my body despite 2 cosmetic surgeries, daily strength training, endless cardio, and macro counting. My physique did not have balance or symmetry.

After getting laser hair removal, my laser girl recommended I see Dr. Maffei. During my consultation, he was attentive and transparent about what he could do for me. His staff and lipo assistant, Robin, were incredible - including everything from scheduling my surgery to caring for me during my procedure. My surgery was smooth and it felt as like warmth from a welcoming family.
