Is it normal my urine stream changed after tummy tuck?

   Urine stream change can occur after surgery due to Foley catheter placement, skin tension changes, and swelling.  If the condition does not resolve or improve in a few days, further investigation would be merited.

Thank you for the question.  During tummy tuck surgery, your pubic area has probably been “raised”. This lifting of the area along with dependent edema/swelling may explain the difference you have experienced with your urinary stream.

 I think it is doubtful that you will have any permanent or significant changes. However, your plastic surgeon will be your best resource for more accurate advice and/or reassurance.

I, too, have never heard of this. Please talk with your plastic surgeon who can examine you and see if it is due to swelling--in which case it will improve with time. And I agree that if it persists (or your plastic surgeon is unable to help you) to see a urologist. Good luck to you.

I too have never heard of this. I would discuss with your plastic surgeon. If it goes on for more than a month I would see a urologist.

I will have to say, that is a first!   No one has ever ask me that question before.  I'm sure everything will settle down as you continue to heal.  Discuss this with your Plastic Surgeon.
