Brown stripes on face 4 weeks after microneedling, am I safe to get another treatment done in a week? (photo)

Hello and thank you for your answer. I assume that you had some redness after the treatment and probably were exposed to the sun more the you should have been.  The resolution of the post inflammatory hyperpigmentation can take up to 5-6 months.

I recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist for treatment for hyperpigmentation. This can be improved with a combination of lasers, Aerolase, microneedling/prp, skin lightening, peels, and skin care. Sun protection is essential. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

It is regrettable that you developed pigment stripes after microneedling.  Unfortunately, hyperpigmentation can occur long after the injury that created it.  You should delay any further microneedling, and discuss a plan of treatment with your physician that includes lightening creams and sun avoidance.  Best to you

Very unusual. Its well demarcated. Could be a light reaction to lime- plants at this stage -phytophotodermatosis, give appearance and time frame. 2 well demarcated stripes is usual to get 4 weeks post microneedling. Postpone the next appointment, see a dermatologist for a diagnosis, and get some bleaching cream to help fade this pigment, and above all- sun protect. Dr Davin S. Lim
