Hi, thanks for your question! Microneedling is a great solution to acne scars. If you already have keloid scars, microneedling is unlikely to improve them and in some cases can make them worse. If you are prone to keloid scars but don’t currently have any, microneedling should not cause you to develop any if it is done correctly. That being said, if you are concerned about microneedling and keloid scars, there are other treatments for acne scarring that you can try. Platelet-rich plasma treatments, laser skin resurfacing and chemical peels are also often recommended to improve the appearance of acne scars. You should schedule an in-person consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area -- they will be able to assess your skin and offer their expert advice about your best options. Good luck!
Hi @Joyce_angel1! This is a great question. If microneedling is performed by a skilled professional, it should not cause keloids. Microneedling with PRP is a great option for acne scars. 3-6 sessions are necessary for optimal results. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Thank you for your question. No, if done appropriately micro-needling will not cause keloid scarring. Acne scars are difficult to treat, but it's always best to use different modalities including skin care prep, laser resurfacing treatments as well as micro-needling. I suggest using PRP with micro-needling to give you the best result. I hope this helps you, be well.
No, if done appropriately, microneedling should not cause keloid scarring. Keep in mind, a combination approach will give the most improvement for acne scarring. Acne scars need a combination of microneedling with prp, lasers, subcision, Cosmelan, and fillers. It will take a series of treatments and may need some treatments to maintain. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an acne scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thanks for your question, but it sounds like you are treating yourself. Whenever there is a problem with a treatment outcome, you should always contact the service provider first. Almost everyone is better off if they leave treating their face to a professional. Try calling customer se...
You will gain more and be in a safer place if you see a dermatologist for pores. Creams can help, do not use 0.8 in your case as it make make your scar worse. If anything go for gentle 0.25 mm skin rolling or derma rolling. It may or may not help, but is certainly safer than 0.8 mm needling....
Microneedling is a great treatment for fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes. In my office I have great results using also Venus Legacy. This treatment requires finesse and expertise but done right can lead to a very nice outcome. Good luck
