Air Bubbles every where! Any suggestions?

Question

I am so very happy with the way they look but somewhat concerned with the air bubbles that are not just in my pocket of my breasts but all over my sternum, my armpit and under my collar bone. I sure hope that doesn't become something more than baby bubbles that are supposed to disappear... Thoughts?

You do not mention how far along you are post operative. Typically this resolves a few days after surgery and is due to swelling. Regards,

Thank you for your question. Some people do get air pockets after surgery. The body should absorb these. If they are particularly concerning you it would be a good idea to see your surgeon.

This Is perfectly normal and will disappear in the next few weeks. It is from air and fluid (irrigation, local anesthetic, serum, etc) in the pocket which will be naturally absorbed over time.

Dear ManicMonday,Thank you for your question.It is normal to have some air, some "funny sounds" when you move your arms and go up stairs etc. in the first few days.It is not normal to have air "everywhere".If you have any shortness of breath or fell unwell in any way - I would suggest that you see your PS.  At minimum, a call might allow him / her to determine if you should be seen.It is great that you are so happy with the appearance of your new breasts.  Patients are always so pleased with the outcome of breast implants.All the best,Scott Barr, MD, FRCSC, Plastic Surgeon .barrplasticsurgey.com

This is very concerning as it is an indication of a pneumothorax. You should get medical attention as soon as possible.
