Air Bubbles every where! Any suggestions?

You do not mention how far along you are post operative. Typically this resolves a few days after surgery and is due to swelling. Regards, 

This Is perfectly normal and will disappear in the next few weeks. It is from air and fluid (irrigation, local anesthetic, serum, etc) in the pocket which will be naturally absorbed over time.

Thank you for your question. Some people do get air pockets after surgery. The body should absorb these. If they are particularly concerning you it would be a good idea to see your surgeon.

This is very concerning as it is an indication of a pneumothorax. You should get medical attention as soon as possible.

Dear ManicMonday,Air and fluid bubbles are common after breast augmentation and typically take a few days to resolve. Surgeons use antibiotics mixed with fluid to wash out the breast pocket before placing an implant. This fluid can find its way into the subcutaneous tissues and produce the bubbles you're describing. You did not mention how long ago and through what incision your surgery was done. Typically this is most common through a transaxillary (armpit) incision. If you are not having any breathing problems, then I would not worry. If your surgery was more than a few days ago, and you are having breathing difficulties, then please call your doctor and consider going in to have a chest xray taken.

What you are feeling is something like a bowl of Rice Krispies under your skin which can be frequently felt after surgery and is air in the subcutaneous fat. However, as one doctor here has said, there can be a rare condition where your lung is leaking the air out and this needs urgent evaluation by your doctor. 

It is not unusual to have air bubbles in the pocket around a breast implant (subcutaneous emphysema)  following the surgery.  This air will resorb over the next few days to weeks.  Let your surgeon know about this, but don't worry it should resolve.  Best wishes, Dr. Lepore.
