I feel truly blessed to be under his expert care and guidance. Thirty years ago breast cancer resulted in a right side mastectomy and reconstruction. Last year breast cancer was detected in my other breast by 3-D mammography. My breast surgeon recommended Dr. Oliva as the reconstruction surgeon that she would want for herself. Dr. Oliva said he was challenged by the prior reconstruction results. I appreciated his honesty. Dr. Oliva recommended a procedure that would use my back muscle, the latissimus dorsi, for my left breast reconstruction and there would be NO scar on my back. Dr. Oliva is the only surgeon providing this procedure. Dr. Oliva also performed a revision to the prior reconstructed right breast with excellent results. I am delighted with the reconstructive results performed by Dr. Oliva. Your staff has been wonderful and very, very, helpful. Thank you for restoring my self-confidence Dr. Oliva
Dr. Olivia was great! I recently experienced a ruptured saline implant that had been done years ago when I lived in a different state. I asked a number of friends who they would suggest in town and everybody said to see Dr. Olivia. The patient care coordinator scheduled a consultation for me the next day and Dr. Olivia scheduled surgery for the following week. The surgery went very well, recovery was easy, and most importantly I am very pleased with the result!
had surgery august 14th with Dr Oliva, he ended up choosing 310cc left, 345cc right.... under general, no oral abx and super natural results! mod profile natrelle gummy bear over the muscle but subfascial... i am 5'8" 118lbs it was very hard to find natural results for girls with my frame and over so i hope this helps! i will post the full review in the coming day or so!
Dr. Oliva is the sweetest physician I have ever met. His concern for my well being and kindness from the consultation through the post-op visits was something I never expected. How refreshing to find a surgeon who really cares for his patient! His administrative staff as well as the nursing staff were all cheerful and willing to help me with anything I needed. Dr. Oliva's ability to turn around how I felt about myself is amazing! I highly recommend Dr. Oliva and his staff!! wa
Dr. Oliva, the office staff and Surgery staff was amazing and made my experience the best I could have hope for. I had breast reduction on 6/23/16 and from my very first appointment Dr. Oliva made me feel comfortable, explained everything and answered my questions with care and honesty. He was my only consultation and I had no doubt when I left that Dr. Oliva would perform my surgery. My surgery went very well and all of the after care and follow ups have been stellar. Dr. Oliva always asked how my husband was doing and included him in with my appointments just to help make sure he was comfortable too. If I had concerns he made sure to tell me to call him and the office anytime. This is the best thing I could have done for myself and I'm so happy with the results and my overall experience that I've even recommended Dr. Oliva to two friends of mine. Thank you Dr. Oliva!!
First off, let's talk about how amazing Dr Oliva is! Extremely professional, a perfectionist, calm and collected, kind and shoot-it-to-ya-straight type of man. His staff are also very friendly and professional and facility is extremely clean! My history: I had very small breasts growing up. And I mean tiny. Mostly just a nipple. I am small framed and not a ton of body fat, especially in the chest. I had implants at a young age that were done very well in my opinion. Saline behind the muscle. They were great! Perfect! Then bring us to 14 years later, 2 kids and years of being a gym rat and loving all things active, my breasts became very displaced and unattractive. Of course the stretched out skin from pregnancy and nursing but what was really bothering me was the way I could flex my pecs and almost completely flatten the implants. They went almost to my collar bone and out to my armpits when I would flex. Also, when I would lay down, they would almost completely fall into my armpits. Not to mention the rippling. It was bad. It was all bad. So I did my research, had a consult with a plastic surgeon my ob/gyn referred me to and that wasn't a good fit for me. So I did more research. I found Dr Oliva and spoke with many of his patients. Had a consult and new I wanted him to do my surgery. He didn't say yes to me right away. Because I had such a complicated case, Dr Oliva told me he needed to do his own research and talk with colleges before we could move forward. It took almost a week but I got the phone call that he agreed to do my surgery. I was ecstatic!! He explained the best way to fix my issues were to do a split muscle technique, over the muscle with silicone implants and split the muscle at the top and tuck the implant under the muscle so that it is hidden. So above and below the pecs. The Surgery and Post-op: Extremely quick. The only pain was one drain that must have been on a nerve. No pain at all from implant placement or surgery itself. Only took pain meds until the drains came out. Felt so good, i needed to remind myself to take it easy to recover quickly. My Results: Pros: They are much softer, feel more natural. They do not get displaced when I flex. The implant sits better on my chest and doesn't appear so high. Cons: I do have rippling. Enough that bothers me every time i take my bra off. With being so thin and not much breast tissue, there is not much that covers the implant on top of the muscle. They do go away when i put on a bra or bathing suit. Lesser of two evils though in my opinion. Had what i had before, under the muscle completely and deal with displacement and eventually rippling or softer, more natural looking and feeling that do not get displaced when working out or lifting my babies? I will take this happily;) Dr Oliva and staff are very pleased with my outcome. I was released to do most activities after about 6 weeks but will not be able to do any chest exercises or anything that involves chest for 6 months. It will be worth the wait!
I was a C cup before I had kids. I had 2 pregnancies, my breasts have gone from c to double d when I was breastfeeding. They did go back to normal size after, but the skin didn't, it was hanning over out of a bra, I couldn't wear thin tight t-shirts or tank tops, I hated shopping for bras, It was very hard to dress especially in summer. So I was very motivated to do a breast lift! The recovery was fine, the procedure was fine, I am very satisfied with the results, I love bikinis, and i look hot in it now, my confidence is back!
I had very small breast size, a B cup at best. I Had one child leaving them leaving them as a victim to gravity. I work out and I have not been satisfied with the way they looked, as some weight was dropped they shriveled up to nearly nothing, until now I am very happy with how they look. I have wide hips and felt I did not have a balanced shape.
After weighing 260lbs when I delivered my last child, I knew my physical and nutritional lifestyle was in desperate need of change. 5 years after my delivery I successfully had lost 110lbs. I had delivered 2 children and breastfed both of them for a year each. My body was spent and it showed. My breasts had taken a toll on all of the weight fluctuation over the years. My breasts were deflated and they needed some serious attention. I am so extremely happy with my results.
It is my pleasure to share my experience of my breast reduction by Dr. Alfonso Oliva. From the initial consultation, I not only had complete confidence , but also a sense of his genuine care about my particular outcome. From his explanation of the procedure, as well as the "what to expect" in the recovery process, to the actual day- of - experience ; it was all Excellent and WELL WORTH IT !. Dr. Oliva projects an "aura" if you will, of a confident perfectionist, which is VERY reassuring. His nurse and O/R suite / recovery room staff were fantastic. I have left each appointment feeling as though I was the only patient that day. Truly, I have to say that I think of Dr. Oliva as an artist , and I feel and look like a new (and younger) woman! I WILL recommend Dr. Oliva enthusiastically or any plastic surgery !
Hi Amber 1020, Thank you for your question. I think what you may be feeling is the implant itself. This may be the area where the muscle fibers were detached from the chest wall and now you're able to feel the implant. This can be easily checked by her plastic surgeon. He could put your mind at rest. Best regards,
Hi Mshtown, I don't see any significant swelling present. Your breasts will not change significantly in the next few months. Your breasts are already large compared to your hips and shoulders. I would not recommend a larger size for you with its attendant risks. Best wishes,
Hi mcwillir, It appears that you have symptomatic macromastia, or simply put, large breasts that bother you. You do qualify to have breast reduction covered by Medicare, but because the reimbursement to plastic surgeons is so low, very few surgeons agree to see patients for treatment like you. Go the the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, surgery.org and look for the board certified plastic surgeons in your area. Call their office and see if they accept medicare patients that need a breast reduction. Best wishes,
Hi AmySagg, Thank you for your question. I think you have sufficient tissue available so that a skin tightening procedure or so-called breast lift could help significantly improved his shape and contour of your breast. Internal sutures can also be used to further rearrange her breast tissue to provide a nicer shape as well. Because you have sufficient tissue I don't think you need a breast implant. However, your desire to not look "deflated" while lying down is not anatomic and is unrealistic. Because of the shape of your breast they will project to the outside when you lay down. This is simply a function of gravity. A breast lift will improve this but they will still look to some degree deflatedwhe you are lying down. He have to have realistic expectations are you will be very disappointed following your surgery. Good luck,
Hi jesscoccaro, I'm sorry, but you just don't look like a 9 cm breast diameter. Measure it yourself from the cleavage side of your breast to outer edge by your arm. That means you are only 3 1/2 inches! You just seem wider by your photos. A lot goes into deciding whether you should have high profile implants. In small breasts like yours, sometimes a really high profile implant may distort the breast and make it look unnatural. You appear to be a good candidate for breast augmentation. I recommend that you don't over do it. Good luck
