Will these creases go away? (photo)

The abdominal binders are notorious for creases. These can lead to hyperpigmentation and scarring. Ask your surgeon for Reston foam and ointment (neosporin and later vitamin E) to reduce this problem. Good luck !

Thank you for your question! Once you remove the compression garments, and your swelling goes down, the creases should go away. In my practice I use special foam pads placed under the compression garments to help smooth the contour during the initial healing process. Please see your surgeon for specific post-op recommendations. Dear zuleOnce teh pressure from the tube is removed your skin should come back to normal in hours. On occasion hyperpigmentation can be seen if there was too much pressure. I would not worry about it at all.

Hi. You can relax. It looks like you may have had lipo also. When you apply the garment just make surevthatbthendrian tubes come out the button and double up within the garment. Theses marks will absolutely go away. Good luck Dr PG

I have done hundreds of tummy tucks and body contouring procedures and have never seen a crease from a compression garment become permanent and I almost always use compression garments and they almost always leave creases.  Your drain will hopefully come out soon and if the compression garment is particularly uncomfortable or you are worried about the creases, ask your surgeon if it would be OK to switch to spanx instead, which usually leaves no creases.  But rest assured, the creases will resolve.  Best of luck with your recovery!

Thank you for the question and your photographs.  These creases are, as you have stated, from your abdominal binder. It is possible to use a foam pad under the binder to avoid these creases. Once the drains have been removed, the other option would be to switch from the abdominal binder to a spanx. In any case these creases should go on to resolve. I would recommend to continue to follow up with your plastic surgeon they are in the best position to evaluate and treat you in the post operative period. This will allow you and your surgeon the chance to discuss your concerns and help allay any anxieties you may be experiencing. Good luck.

You can have some permanent indentations .  I would pad your skin with an ABD pad/feminine pads work just as well.  Let the pad block the garment and drain from your skin.  Hope this helps ..

Hello. You do not have to worry about this crease . It will disappear when the swelling goes down . What you can do to help recover this crease faster it is to buy a special foam that helps your skin mistreats less because of the compression garment .

Yes these creases should go away with time.  Make sure you put a pad between you skin and the drainage tube so an impression will not be made.

Yes the creases will go away . This is common after liposuction and abdominoplasty , but the creases go away completely if you wear the garment properly.
