I had a 15cm lipoma removed from my left groin. I had excessive bleeding after the procedure. Over the phone my surgeon wasn't concerned. It took 2 days for bleeding to stop. Now I have this bruising. Should I be concerned?

Answer: Bruising Dear Mulligrubb,I understand your concern but bruising can occur after the surgery. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine is there something wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Is this normal bruising after lipoma removal? My surgeon isn't concerned Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. Due to the bleeding you described after your procedure this has caused the bruising currently seen in your photographs. As your pictures offer limited views of the area, I would recommend discussing your concerns with your surgeon to ensure that no discrete fluid collection had developed.
