Hi my knees are very swollen and it's been 10 days since my surgery. The right knee is more swollen than the other and I don't seem to be getting enough blood circulation on right foot. My foot is very numb underwear especially on the heel. What should I do? I called the doctors office and they say it's very nomarl but this is worrying me

Thank you very much for your question.What you are describing does not sound like a normal postoperative course, and I am especially worried when you mention that your foot is numb (especially 10 days after surgery).I would call your doctor's office again, and if you really feel like your foot isn't getting enough blood flow, get to an emergency department.

Your procedure could have put some pressure or inflammation on your sciatic nerve.Calf swelling it can be associated with a blood clot.I suggest you ask to be examined.Considering you probably paid a substantial amount of money for your procedure seems like a reasonable request.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
