9 months sliding genioplasty I have mild pain and a cracking noise. Is it just healing or will I need a revision?

Had a sliding genioplasty about 9 months ago and I have some mild pain and cracking noise near the fracture site more or so when i stretch the chin. Is this a sign of a underlying problem that requires revision, if so please square me away with recommendations to a great jaw surgeon.

This sound does not necessarily suggest that any type of revision is needed. It is unusual so far out from the surgery but getting a recent x-ray would be helpful to identify what the source may be. Sliding genioplasties heal remarkably well and such problems as non-unions or broken metal hardware are exceedingly very rare. It would also be helpful to know what the amount of bony movements were for your sliding genioplasty.

You might want to discuss this with your surgeon. He/she should take an X-ray and evaluate things like failure oh screws or plates.
